Peaceful and beautiful, with a coastline of contrasts, home to some of the finest coves in the whole Mediterranean. This is Minorca, an island that is a designated Biosphere Reserve. A place where you will breathe peace, quiet and nature. Valleys, small hills and gorges make up a beautiful landscape that will captivate you from the moment you set eyes on it. Small villages, prehistoric monuments and rich historic heritage can be found along the tracks and trails that crisscross the island, perfect for excursions, walks, and biking routes along the known “Camí de Cavalls”. Minorca is, all in all, a place to get away from it all, surrounded by incomparable natural surroundings.

Cala en Forcat

The area between Pont d'en Gil, a spectacular natural arch cut back into the cliff, and the estuary of the port of Ciutadella, is the most densely urbanized part of the district. Its border to the north is the Torre del Ram hippodrome. Their use for tourism dates back to the early days of the boom in the sector and includes different centres, among which some small coves remain almost hidden. The narrowness of these inlets is exaggerated by the height of the cliff, on which platforms have been built, which aim to make up for the lack of real beach space.

Cala en Blanes

Follow the path along the shoreline of Port de Ciutadella until reaching Sa Farola, the lighthouse. This cove offers a small sandy area with palm trees in the back. It is a perfect spot to take some fresh air. Unfortunately in summertime these small coves, due to their closeness to Ciutadella, often hang up the "full" sign.
